A Day Trip to Tambuli Beach Resort

Sometimes you would like to spend the day just relaxing and enjoying a peaceful beach setting without spending a great deal of money at an exclusive resort near Cebu City. If this sounds good to you, then you might try Tambuli Beach Resort on Lapu-Lapu Island.

Actually there are two Tambuli Beach Resorts on Lapu-Lapu Island located very close to each other. We recently visited Tambuli Beach Resort – West. We took advantage of their day package that included the use their beach, swimming pool, and food/drinks at their restaurant for only P 350 per day per person.

This is a relatively old beach resort that does not have as many amenities as the more well-known beach resorts in the area, but for the price they charge, Tambuli is a real bargain for a day at the beach. We enjoyed a beautiful day swimming in both the ocean and the pool followed by some fairly good Filipino food. It was so quite and peaceful there; we almost fell asleep after lunch. I would describe this resort as rustic and reminiscent of the way beach resorts in the Philippines were twenty years ago.

We only stayed at Tambuli for a day. So because we were not there overnight, we cannot comment on their rooms. We did inquire about their room rates and were a bit surprised to learn they charge nearly P 4,000 per night. While I don’t think this room rate is a real bargain, many of the other resorts in the area charge significantly more.
